“Reach for the skies!” – 70 Years of vocational training experiencing technology, connecting generations, and sharing knowledge
The “70 years of vocational training” anniversary event on June 11 highlighted the lasting value of vocational training at Lufthansa Technik. Bringing together apprentices, instructors, and leaders, the event offered personal insights into seven decades of training history and demonstrated how expertise is passed on across generations. A new milestone in vocational training
Lufthansa Technical Training is introducing the Mobile Learning System (MLS), a central platform providing apprentices with digital learning content and training materials. The 2026 intake will be the first cohort to use the system throughout their entire vocational training journey. |

Commitment, excellence and early success
A total of 95 apprentices in Frankfurt and Hamburg were honored for successfully completing their vocational training. Among them were several high-performing apprentices who completed their training ahead of schedule. Many have since started their careers as skilled professionals within the Lufthansa Group or are continuing their journey through the Lufthansa Technik Students program. |

Completion of EASA Part-66 B1.1/B2 qualification for the Boeing 747-8
In early July, Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT) successfully qualified Egyptian aircraft technicians at its Frankfurt training center as part of a ten-day EASA Part-66 B1.1/B2 Practical Training course. Delivered by LTT instructors, the training marked the final step in a qualification program preparing participants for future maintenance activities on an Egyptian government aircraft. In total, the program involved 48 trainees and 90 training days. |

EAMTC General Assembly Meeting
At the 84th EAMTC General Assembly Meeting in Bordeaux, Lufthansa Technical Training joined members of the international aviation training community to discuss current developments in aviation maintenance training. Topics ranged from digitalization and regulatory developments to innovative training approaches and future learning concepts. |

Commercial Aircraft Composite Repair Committee (CACRC)
At the CACRC Meeting in Lisbon, Lufthansa Technical Training shared its expertise in composite training, contributing to discussions on an international training programme for composite materials and future qualification standards across the MRO industry. |

MRO BEER
At MRO BEER in mid July in Istanbul, Lufthansa Technical Training focused on exchanging insights on current challenges and requirements in technical training. Discussions with airlines, MRO providers and industry partners explored how qualification programs can become more digital and better aligned with operational needs. With LEVO, Lufthansa Technical Training demonstrated how digital learning content can effectively complement technical training and make specialist knowledge more accessible and readily available. |

WATS
Lufthansa Technical Training attended the World Aviation Training Summit (WATS) in Orlando from May 5 to 7, engaging with international industry experts on current challenges and future developments in aviation training. Key topics included immersive learning technologies, hands-on training concepts and Competency-Based Training & Assessment (CBTA). Discussions also covered developments in technical maintenance training and regulatory requirements in the U.S. market, particularly within the FAA environment. The event provided valuable insights that will help shape the future development of modern training concepts and technical qualification programs. |
